Coral Essentials Coral Power Bromide is a concentrated bromide supplement (50,000 ppm as sodium bromide) designed to support natural seawater chemistry and overall reef system balance. In natural seawater, bromide levels are typically around 65 ppm, forming part of the essential halide group alongside chloride and iodide.
Maintaining proper bromide levels helps preserve the natural halide balance within marine aquariums, which is important for many biological and chemical processes. In systems using ozone, UV, or advanced oxidation methods, bromide can be converted into reactive compounds that assist in reducing organic load and improving water clarity when managed correctly.
Bromide also plays a role in biochemical pathways, supporting enzymatic processes (such as haloperoxidases) used by some marine organisms for natural defence mechanisms, pigmentation, and metabolic functions.
In certain systems—particularly those running aggressive filtration or oxidation—bromide levels may become depleted over time, making controlled supplementation beneficial for maintaining stability.
Dosage Guide:
Start with 1 drop (0.05 ml) daily per 100L of aquarium water. Gradually increase to 2 drops (0.1 ml) daily per 100L over time based on system demand. Do not exceed 3 drops (0.15 ml) daily per 100L in heavily stocked systems.
Advanced Dosing:
- 0.1 ml (2 drops) will raise bromide levels by approximately 0.05 ppm per 100L
