Coral Essentials Coral Power Nitrate Up is a concentrated inorganic nitrogen source (50,000 ppm) designed to restore and maintain optimal nitrate levels in marine aquariums. It is especially beneficial in ULNS (Ultra Low Nutrient Systems) where nutrient levels can become too low, leading to pale, unhealthy corals.
In bacteria-driven systems, nitrate plays a crucial role in biological balance, helping beneficial bacteria reduce phosphate levels naturally while also providing a direct nutrient source for corals. Maintaining proper nitrate levels supports improved colouration, stronger growth, and overall coral health.
When nitrate is too low, corals can become starved and lose vibrancy. Coral Essentials recommends maintaining nitrate levels between 1–5 ppm for optimal reef performance and stability.
Dosage Guide (ULNS Systems Only):
Start with 1 drop (0.05 ml) daily per 100L of aquarium water. Adjust dosing based on your system’s nutrient levels, coral density, and response.
Advanced Dosing:
- 1 ml will raise nitrate by approximately 0.5 ppm per 100L
- 2 drops (0.1 ml) will raise nitrate by approximately 0.05 ppm per 100L
This allows precise control to match your system’s nutrient consumption and maintain stability.
