Quantum Reef Essential® AR Phosphate Remover™
A specialised liquid supplement engineered to eliminate both ionic and chemically bound phosphate from marine and reef aquariums, helping reduce nuisance algae and stabilise calcium and alkalinity levels.
Key Benefits & Features
-
Removes both ionic and calcium-bound phosphate, which test kits often miss, ensuring accurate phosphate control and preventing hidden buildup behind low readings.
-
Helps restore calcium stability and avoids false lows that can impact coral growth.
-
Uses purified lanthanum in deionised water to precipitate phosphate into filter wool or socks for easy removal.
-
Must be used in aquariums with protein skimmers; best dosed into high-flow areas of the system.
-
Overdosing can result in a fine white film on the glass; wear indicates dosing should be adjusted and glass cleaned with Quantum’s White Film Remover pads.
Dosage Guidelines
Measure dosage using the supplied measuring cup or cap (1 cap ≈ 10 mL). To convert from dosage drops to mL: ~20 drops = 1 mL.
Daily dosage per 100 L / 26 US gal:
-
Phosphate level 0.03–0.25 ppm → 0.1–1.0 mL/day (~1–10 drops)
-
0.25–1.0 ppm → 0.5–2.5 mL/day (~5–25 drops)
-
1.0–5.0 ppm → 1.0–5.0 mL/day (~10–50 drops)
-
5.0–10 ppm → 5.0–10.0 mL/day (~50–100 drops)
-
>10 ppm → 10 mL/day (100 drops)
Usage & Storage Tips
-
Shake is not required unless the product has been sitting; in that case, gently invert before use.
-
Dose into the sump or return line where flow is high for best mixing.
-
Do not overdose—monitor glass surfaces and reduce dosing if a white film forms.
-
Not suitable for freshwater or planted tanks; only for saltwater reef systems with active protein skimmers.
