UV Water Clarification & Sterilisation

Aqua Ultraviolet systems use germicidal ultraviolet light to treat water as it passes through the unit. UV exposure damages the genetic material of single-celled organisms, helping to control:

Reef Aquarium Use

For reef systems, UV doses around 30,000–45,000 µW/cm² are typically preferred, as excessively high sterilisation rates may reduce planktonic organisms that can form part of the natural food supply.

Marine Fish Systems

For marine fish-only systems, stronger UV doses around 75,000–90,000 µW/cm² may be used where greater pathogen control is the priority.
