Fritz A+ Aquarium Salt

Fritz A+ Aquarium Salt is an all-natural freshwater aquarium salt designed to provide essential electrolytes that support normal gill function and overall fish health. These electrolytes help freshwater fish with important biological processes including oxygen uptake and the release of carbon dioxide and ammonia through the gills.

Fritz A+ Aquarium Salt can be used during new aquarium setup, water changes, transport, recovery from illness and certain treatment situations where additional salt support is appropriate.

General Aquarium Use

For tropical community aquariums and goldfish tanks:

Dose 1 tablespoon per 5 gallons of water.

For livebearer aquariums, salt levels may be increased gradually up to:

1 tablespoon per 1 gallon of water

Increase the level slowly over approximately 3–4 days.

External Parasite Bath

For treatment of external parasites, prepare a 2.5% saline bath in a separate quarantine container.

Add:

½ cup / approximately 95 g per 1 gallon of water

Immerse the fish for approximately 15–30 minutes, removing it immediately if signs of stress appear, then return the fish to freshwater.

Cleaning Aquariums & Accessories

Fritz A+ Aquarium Salt can also be used to prepare a cleaning solution for aquarium equipment.

Mix:

⅓ cup of salt per 1 gallon of warm water

Use the solution to wipe aquarium surfaces or soak accessories.

Do not use soap or household disinfectants on aquarium equipment.

Important Information

Aquarium salt does not evaporate and is not removed by normal filtration. Only replace the amount of salt removed during water changes rather than repeatedly adding a full dose.

Use care in planted aquariums, as some live plants may be sensitive to elevated salt levels.
