Red Sea Coral Pro Salt

Red Sea Coral Pro Salt is a premium reef salt formulated with elevated and biologically balanced levels of calcium, magnesium and alkalinity to support strong coral growth and skeletal development.

With an alkalinity of approximately 12 dKH at 35ppt salinity, Coral Pro is particularly well suited to mixed reef aquariums, LPS systems and SPS frag tanks where accelerated coral growth is the main objective.

Key Features

  • Elevated calcium, magnesium and alkalinity
  • Approximately 12 dKH alkalinity at 35ppt
  • Designed to support accelerated coral growth
  • Ideal for mixed reefs, LPS corals and SPS frag systems
  • Contains a complete range of major, minor and trace elements
  • No chemical binders
  • Low moisture content
  • Highly soluble formula
  • Suitable for regular reef aquarium water changes
  • Mixes clear in approximately 20 minutes when prepared correctly

Typical Parameters at 35ppt

When mixed to approximately 35ppt salinity, Coral Pro provides approximately:

  • Calcium: 450–480ppm
  • Magnesium: 1350–1430ppm
  • Alkalinity: 11.5–12.5 dKH
  • pH: approximately 8.1–8.5
  • Potassium: approximately 400–430ppm

Mixing Instructions

Use clean RO/DI water for best results.

For a reef aquarium mixed to approximately 35ppt, use around 40g of Coral Pro Salt per litre of RO/DI water as a starting point, then adjust according to your refractometer reading.

For best results:

  • Start with RO/DI water at 20°C or below
  • Add the salt gradually while circulating the water
  • Mix until completely dissolved and the water becomes clear
  • Once clear, heat the water to match the aquarium temperature
  • Check salinity before adding the new water to the aquarium
  • Avoid excessive mixing or overheating, as this can cause calcium carbonate precipitation

Storage of Mixed Water

Coral Pro Salt is best mixed shortly before use. Due to its elevated calcium and alkalinity levels, Red Sea recommends avoiding storage of freshly mixed Coral Pro seawater for more than approximately 12 hours, as precipitation can occur and reduce calcium and alkalinity levels.

Water Changes

For stable reef chemistry, regular water changes of around 10% weekly are recommended. Larger water changes can be performed when required, but significant changes in water chemistry should be introduced gradually.

Available Sizes

  • 7kg Bucket – makes up to approximately 210L
  • 20kg Refill Box – makes up to approximately 600L
  • 22kg Bucket – makes up to approximately 660L

Red Sea Coral Pro Salt is an excellent choice for reef keepers wanting elevated foundation elements and a salt mix specifically designed to promote strong, consistent coral growth.
