Aqua Illumination Hydra Edge 44HD

AquaIllumination Hydra Edge 44HD Reef LED Light

The AquaIllumination Hydra Edge 44HD is a high-performance reef aquarium LED designed to deliver strong coral-focused output, broad coverage and natural-looking shimmer from a compact fixture.

With AI’s EdgeField Optics, the Hydra Edge 44HD is designed to spread light more evenly across the aquarium, helping reduce harsh hotspots and shadowing while maintaining strong usable output for coral growth and colour.

Key Features

Solar Blue Spectrum

The Hydra Edge 44HD uses AI’s Solar Blue spectrum, combining blue, royal blue, violet, UV and white LEDs to create a reef-focused output suitable for photosynthetic corals.

The spectrum can be adjusted to create anything from a deep actinic appearance to a brighter, more natural daylight look while maintaining strong blue and violet output.

EdgeField Optics

The new EdgeField Optics are designed to improve light distribution across the aquarium.

Rather than concentrating output into a narrow hotspot directly beneath the fixture, the optics help create a broader and more balanced lighting field. This can improve coverage across coral colonies and reduce dark areas caused by rockwork and branching corals.

Solar Ring Shimmer

The integrated Solar Ring adds a concentrated point of light to create the shimmer and sparkle associated with natural sunlight over a reef.

This gives the aquarium a more dynamic appearance while the wider LED array provides the underlying coverage.

HyperDrive Technology

AI’s HyperDrive technology allows available power to be dynamically distributed between LED channels.

If some colour channels are running below their maximum output, additional available power can be directed toward other channels, giving you greater flexibility when tuning the light to your preferred reef spectrum.

Smart Control with Mobius

The Hydra Edge 44HD is controlled through the Mobius app, allowing you to customise:

• Individual colour channels
• Overall intensity
• Sunrise and sunset periods
