Fritz Coppersafe® is a long-lasting, chelated copper treatment designed to effectively control external parasites in freshwater and saltwater aquariums. Its stable, non-staining formula treats common fish diseases, including Ich (White Spot), Velvet, Flukes and Anchor Worms.

Unlike traditional copper treatments, Fritz Coppersafe requires just one dose to maintain therapeutic copper levels for up to one month, making it an ideal solution for quarantine tanks, preventative treatments and parasite management.

Features & Benefits

  • Effective Parasite Treatment: Controls freshwater and saltwater Ich, Velvet, Flukes, Anchor Worms and other external parasites.

  • Long-Lasting Protection: A single dose maintains therapeutic copper levels for up to one month.

  • Stable Chelated Copper Formula: Provides consistent copper levels without staining aquarium surfaces.

  • Freshwater & Saltwater Compatible: Suitable for treating ornamental fish in both aquarium environments.

  • Ideal for Quarantine Systems: Helps manage parasite outbreaks and supports preventative quarantine procedures.

  • Minimal Filtration Disruption: Compatible with biological filtration, activated carbon and UV sterilisers.

  • Compatible with Other Treatments: Can be used alongside Fritz water conditioners and compatible medications.

  • Easy Dosing: Concentrated formula simplifies treatment without requiring frequent redosing.

Directions & Dosage

Recommended Dosage:

  • Add 5 mL per 15 litres of aquarium water.

  • A single dose maintains approximately 2.0 ppm total copper.

  • No additional dosing is normally required for up to one month, provided therapeutic copper levels are maintained.

Treatment duration will depend on the parasite or infection being treated.

Important Treatment Guidelines

  • For best results, administer treatment in a dedicated quarantine aquarium.

  • Remove ion-exchange resins and copper-absorbing filter media before treatment.

  • Switch off protein skimmers during treatment.

  • Activated carbon does not need to be removed.

  • UV sterilisers may remain operational.

  • Monitor copper concentrations using a reliable test kit capable of measuring chelated or total copper.

  • Maintain copper levels between 1.5–2.0 ppm, following the manufacturer's instructions.

  • When performing water changes, dose replacement water appropriately to maintain therapeutic copper concentrations.

  • If the aquarium's actual water volume is uncertain, begin with a partial dose and test copper levels before adding more.

  • After treatment, remove residual copper using water changes or copper-specific removal media.

Important Safety Information

Not Reef Safe – Do Not Use with Invertebrates

Fritz Coppersafe contains copper, which is toxic to many aquarium invertebrates. Do not use in aquariums containing corals, shrimp, snails, clams, crustaceans or other copper-sensitive invertebrates.

  • Use caution with scaleless fish and species known to be sensitive to copper.

  • May be harmful to aquatic plants and amphibians.

  • Avoid overdosing and regularly monitor copper concentrations throughout treatment.

  • If an overdose occurs, immediately perform substantial water changes to reduce copper levels.

  • For ornamental aquarium use only.

  • Keep out of reach of children.

  • Not intended for use on fish destined for human consumption.

Fritz Coppersafe® offers a convenient, long-lasting solution for managing aquarium parasites, helping fishkeepers maintain healthier fish during quarantine and disease treatment.
