Seachem Prime is a concentrated aquarium water conditioner designed to make tap water safe for freshwater and marine aquariums. How Seachem Prime Works
Prime treats tap water by neutralising chlorine and breaking the chlorine-ammonia bond in chloramine. The resulting ammonia is then temporarily converted into a less toxic form, allowing the aquarium’s biological filter time to process it naturally.
It can also temporarily detoxify nitrite and nitrate, making it useful during cycling, after overfeeding, following livestock loss or whenever water quality becomes unstable.
Dosage
For routine conditioning:
5 mL treats approximately 200 litres of new water.
For smaller volumes:
1 mL treats approximately 40 litres.
Prime may also be used at higher doses in emergency situations involving elevated ammonia, nitrite or nitrate, following the manufacturer’s directions.
