Directions & Dosage

Important: Fritz Fishless Fuel must only be used in aquariums without livestock.

Recommended Dosage:

To achieve approximately 2 ppm ammonia:

• Add 4 drops per 3.78 litres of aquarium water.

• Alternatively, add 5 mL per 94.6 litres of aquarium water.

Fritz recommends maintaining an ammonia concentration of approximately 2–4 ppm during the cycling process.

How to Cycle Your Aquarium

1. Prepare Your Aquarium: Fill the aquarium with appropriately conditioned freshwater or saltwater and ensure filtration is operating.

2. Add Fritz Fishless Fuel: Dose the aquarium to achieve the desired ammonia concentration, typically 2 ppm.

3. Introduce Beneficial Bacteria: Add FritzZyme or Fritz TurboStart nitrifying bacteria according to the manufacturer's instructions.

4. Test Water Daily: Monitor ammonia and nitrite concentrations using reliable aquarium test kits.

5. Monitor the Nitrogen Cycle: Beneficial bacteria will convert ammonia into nitrite and subsequently into nitrate.

6. Confirm Cycling Is Complete: Once the aquarium can process the dosed ammonia and resulting nitrite to zero within approximately 24 hours, the biological filter is established.

7. Prepare for Livestock: Confirm ammonia and nitrite are both at zero before introducing fish or other aquarium inhabitants.

Important Treatment Guidelines

• Never add Fishless Fuel to an aquarium containing fish, corals, shrimp, snails or other livestock.

• Do not introduce livestock while measurable ammonia or nitrite remains present.

• Use an ammonia test kit capable of measuring concentrations of at least 4 ppm.

• Avoid raising ammonia levels above 5 ppm, as excessive ammonia may slow the cycling process.

• No filtration equipment needs to be removed or switched off during use.

• Variations in ammonia odour are normal and do not indicate product effectiveness.

• If overdosing occurs, perform partial water changes to reduce ammonia concentrations.

• Continue monitoring ammonia and nitrite regularly after introducing livestock.
